AW Installations Ltd Services
AW Installations offers a comprehensive service to the furniture industry and end users.
The business is divided into three main parts:
- The storage and distribution, installation and reconfiguration work for end users.
- Direct to site by our client's manufacturer, where we will attend site, offload, unpack and install furniture to instructions and drawings.
- The distribution and installation of product sent to us by various manufacturers, purchased by our clients that we consolidate and send to site on our own delivery vehicles.
Services provided include:
1) Installation
AWI Ltd will be responsible for the unloading, movement of product on site, pre-installation marshalling, unpacking, distributing, installation, removal and disposal of all used packaging and cleaning down of completed installations. The installation will be in accordance with approved drawings supplied by the clients.
AWI Ltd shall maintain a diary and record of all deviations from the agreed plan. No alteration to layout plans will be made unless previously agreed with the client.
AWI Ltd will be responsible for all electrical connections within the furniture system and will ensure all connections are safe. An additional cost can be supplied for the certification of workstations to ensure compliance with BS6396 : 1995 relating to Electrical Systems in Office Furniture and Office screens if required.
AWI Ltd will not be responsible for any other electrical services and connections between the building and the furniture system. AWI Ltd will review the final placement of furniture for damage, quality of assembly, line & level, etc.
2) Pre-Installation
AWI Ltd will if requested check drawings to ensure correct positioning of floor boxes etc. in relation to furniture layout, dimensions of building in relation to furniture layout, height of screens in relation to window heights - all as appropriate.
3) Installation Personnel
All personnel are experienced in a variety of systems office furniture. Each team has a supervisor and First Aider and all personnel are conversant in Manual Handling techniques. Each fitter wears a uniform of black or blue trousers and blue t-shirts bearing the AWI Ltd logo. This varies on the Client's request. Each fitter carries relevant tools required for furniture installation. AWI Ltd guarantee at least 90% continuity of staff throughout the project not withstanding sickness, accidents, etc.
All our fitters are experienced in a wide variety of systems office furniture, carry all relevant tools and are conversant in Manual Handling techniques. Our own uniform is a dark blue t-shirt with the AWl logo on and trousers, but this can be varied according to the client’s requirements. On large installations, a Site Supervisor is appointed. He will be very experienced with running a team of furniture installers and also knowledgeable regarding the product. He will ensure that the team work with the supplier’s schedule, the client’s way of working and also liaise with your customer regarding any changes to layout drawings.
4) Site Management
AWI Ltd will supply a site supervisor who will be very experienced with running a team of furniture installers & also knowledgeable regarding the product. He will ensure that the team work with the supplier's schedule & way of working.
5) Staffing Levels
Due to the varying amounts of activity required to complete the installation schedule, manning levels will vary on a daily basis to ensure that the most effective and efficient levels of manpower are always available.
6) Additional Resources
AWI Ltd have additional management, supervisory and installation personnel for support purposes. Also, additional vehicles and equipment etc. are readily available if required.
7) Project Completion
A snag list will be drawn up by the Site Supervisor and any issues that can be resolved will be completed if possible. A walk round the completed installation with the supplier's Project Manager & the Client will also be carried out by the Site Supervisor. The site will be left clean & tidy with all furniture levelled & wiped down. Keys will be left with their relevant pedestals / cabinets.
8) Moving of Goods on Site
During unloading, all products will be checked, marshalled and placed into the building. AWI Ltd will keep access/emergency routes free from packaging materials and accumulated product. AWI Ltd will take appropriate steps to protect the fabric of the building where necessary including doorjambs, vulnerable corners, columns, glass panels, floor coverings, etc.
